There are so many types of birth control methods today, how can you decide which one to use? All you need to make the right decision is to educate yourself about the many different birth control options. Here you’ll find detailed information about all of the common forms of birth control used today so that you can decide which birth control is best for your body. Males use some types of contraception and females use other types of contraception. There are many different types of contraception that vary in how effective they are at preventing pregnancy, how much they cost, how easy they are to use, and whether they also protect against STDs. As you’ll see, numerous contraceptive options are available. Your decision about what works best . Hormonal methods include all contraceptives that use synthetic female hormones as birth control. The oldest of these is the Pill, which includes combined oral contraceptive pills and the newer estrogen-free mini-pill. Lunelle is one type of birth control shot available along with Depo- provera. Emergency contraception (EC) is a backup method of birth control for preventing pregnancy after unprotected sex. Birth control pills are not effective against sexually transmitted diseases. You should always use condoms to protect yourself from getting an STD. Withdrawal is when the male withdraws his penis completely from the woman’s vagina before he ejaculates (releases many sperm all at once). It is not a good method of contraception, since it is very difficult to prevent ejaculation in the vagina effectively. Withdrawal does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

The vaginal ring is a method of birth control that provides both estrogen and progestin hormones. You need a prescription from your health care provider. The vaginal ring is also used to treat conditions such as irregular periods, menstrual cramps, or endometriosis. The typical woman does not take the progestin-only pill at exactly the same time every day. That’s why we say it is 95% effective & estrogen-free three-month birth control injection. The Cyclofem injection gives one month protection against pregnancy. Therefore, you should get one injection every month to get the best protection against pregnancy. They are more than 99% effective. Norplant implants last up to five years but are no longer available, Similar to Norplant Implanon as recently been approved for use in the U.S. Women who want no more children may opt for a Tube Ligation but keep in mind this is permanent and not easily reversed. Condoms are popular because they are easy to sue and inexpensive and they can prevent both pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. For men who are sure they want no more children, Vasectomy is a surgical option. While this birth control should be seen as permanent, it is possible to get a Vasectomy Surgical .And Withdrawal is also a option withdrawal is when the male withdraws his penis completely from the woman’s vagina before he ejaculates (releases many sperm all at once). since it is very difficult to prevent ejaculation in the vagina effectively. Withdrawal does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) refer to the more than 25 infectious organisms transmitted primarily through sexual activity.

It is also called STDs, or STIs for sexually transmitted infections are infections that can be transferred from one person to another through sexual contact. According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, there are over 15 million cases of sexually transmitted disease cases reported annually in the United States. There are more than 25 diseases that are transmitted through sexual activity. Other than HIV, the most common STDs in the United States are Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, human papillomavirus, hepatitis B, Trichomoniasis, and bacterial vaginosis. Adolescents and young adults are the age groups at the greatest risk for acquiring an STD. Approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among people ages 15 to 24.
Some STDs can have severe consequences, especially in women, if not treated, which is why it is so important to go for STD testing. Some STDs can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, which can cause infertility, while others may even be fatal. STDs can be prevented by refraining from sexual activity, and to a certain extent, some contraceptive devices, such as condoms.
The major STD:
Herpes Virus: Herpes is another STD that presently has no cure. However, treatment is available and there are a number of things you can do yourself at home to help relieve your genital herpes, as well as natural herpes treatment.
Hepatitis: Although there is no cure for those already infected, there is now a Hepatitis B (HBV) vaccine available to prevent the spread of this infection. Many are asymptomatic; however those who do suffer from Hepatitis B symptoms may have many unpleasant discomforts. Even though there is a possibility that the infection will clear up on its own, some people suffer from chronicinfections for many years. Treatment is available for chronic sufferers. Other types of hepatitis infections that can be passed through sexual contact include Hepatitis A and Hepatitis C.
HIV/AIDS: One STD that many people are worried about getting is HIV. While new ways of treating this infection can significantly prolong an infected person’s life, for far too many people this infection eventually progresses to AIDS and, ultimately, death. More than 40 million people worldwide are infected with the HIV virus; women account for 50% of those infected. Recently, studies have found a link between the use of hormonal birth control and HIV.
Syphilis: Throughout history, cases of syphilis have been recorded. While this STD has not always been effectively dealt with, nowadays, syphilis can easily be treated and cured. However, as history has shown, without treatment, syphilis symptoms can progress and affect the nervous system and brain leading to dementia and even death.
